Select a patterned rug.
Preventive care is the best way to take care of your holiday rug. Consider buying a rug with intricate patterns if you are planning to buy a new holiday rug. In addition to looking good, patterned rugs can help hide dirt that is visible on a plain-colored rug.
Dark-colored rugs will always be preferred over light-colored ones if you are setting up an area for entertaining. It may be best to keep the winter wonderland outdoors, even though snowy whites look so chic this time of year.

Even if you try, spills will happen. Take precautions to protect your rug and stay ahead of the spills.
These three items should be readily available before you entertain.

- Uni-Clean Rug Cleaner
In the event of an accident, you should act immediately and take these steps.
- Apply Uni-Clean after removing any loose soil or stains.
- Wait between 1 and 5 minutes to allow the product to penetrate fibers and loosen soil.
- Use a sponge or a cloth to remove excess product.
- Allow 15-30 minutes for the area to air dry.
- Repeat the process of cleaning if the stain is stubborn, or brush the area gently during application.
Uni-Clean can be used on all types of materials. However, you should always test it in a hidden area to ensure that it is safe. Remember to always blot spills from the outside in. Rubbing could cause damage to the rug’s fibers or drive the stain deeper into the carpet.
