Gather your supplies and tools. There is a list that includes everything you need to clean a carpet

A big bucket

Clean water

Rug Shampoo

Soft-bristle brush or sponge

Remove dirt and debris

Vacuum the rugs first from both sides and remove all the garbage. Use a brush if you have pets to remove all stray hairs from the carpets.

Mix your cleaner

Use a shampoo for rugs according to your preferences in the cleaning solution. Follow the instructions on the bottle to mix the shampoo. Use a mild detergent in warm water. Never use hot water, as this can cause the rug to shrink and fade its color.

Run a color test

Before scrubbing, ensure the cleaner does not cause color fading. You can test the solution in a corner to see if it causes color bleeding. If not, then move on to the next step.

The rug should be washed

Start by washing with a sponge or brush made of soft bristles.

Dip the Rug

After removing all cleaning solutions, dip the rug into a bucket full of clear water.

Removing excess water

You need to remove as much excess water as possible from the rugs for them to dry quickly. If you have a wet/dry vacuum, use it. Or squeegee the carpet with maximum power on both sides.

Let the Rug Dry

Let the rug dry completely. To dry them quickly, place the mats directly in sunlight. Dry the top side of the carpet first, then flip it over to dry the other side. Be sure to let the carpets dry completely before bringing them inside.

Vacuum or brush the rug

The last step is to vacuum the rug. You can also use a brush with soft bristles. This will revive the fibers and threads squished during the cleaning process. You are now finished and can enjoy your newly cleaned rug. You can now clean your carpet whenever you want.
